You are not alone. Whether you are living with Alzheimer's or caring for someone with the disease, information and resources are available.
Many caregivers, as well as friends and family, of persons with Alzheimer’s disease or another type of dementia find support groups to be a wonderful source of information, encouragement, and inspiration. Such groups are free to attend and are usually held once or twice a month at community locations, such as churches, hospitals or even assisted living centers or senior centers. A group will usually meet for 1-2 hours.
"But if you’re used to putting others first, how can you shift to not putting your own self last?" In this guide, we’ll provide more detail on caregiver burnout to help you identify if you may be at risk. We’ll also provide some ways to manage stress and offer coping strategies for caregiver burnout so that you can continue to care for your loved one and care for yourself.
